MOREMI INSTITUTE NAMES PATIENCE ANNANKRA AS ONE OF AFRICA'S MOST PROMISING YOUNG FEMALE LEADER

The MOREMI Initiative for Women's Leadership in Africa, on the 28th of May, 2014 officially outdoored the 26 selected most promising young leaders with the courage and commitment to lead and shape the future of Africa.



The selected fellows will become part of the growing MILEAD community of a powerful Pan-African network of change makers.

This year's fellows will converge in Accra, Ghana to kick start the 2014 MILEAD leadership institute. A-three-week intensive program which will be hosted by the Institute of African studies UG-legon, which will serve as a platform for fellows to cross examine leadership in a broad African context.

Founded in 2004, the MOREMI initiative for Women Leadership in Africa strives to engage, inspire and equip young women and girls to become the next generation of leading politicians, activists, social entrepreneurs and change agent leaders who can transform and change institutions that legitimize and perpetuate injustices and discriminate against women.

This year the Women's Commission of NUGS is honoured to be a part of this fellowship.We congratulate all the 1260 young women from 48 countries across Africa who applied for the fellowship this year. We salute all the 26 finalist for their tremendous work and sacrifices, often under extremely difficult circumstances to attain dignity and strive for justice for Women in our communities. We specially salute our very own Ms. PATIENCE ANNANKRA who has been selected as part of the 26 finalist from the African continent to be part of the training this year.

We encourage every female Ghanaian student to strive to be the best in every field of endeavour they find themselves and encourage them to take up the chance to apply for such fellowship opportunities
