4. A bill for the upgrading of the school to a tertiary status is currently before parliament for passage. This will pave way for the school to come under the care of ministry of education rather than ministry of Gender, Children and social protection.

The GUPS national secretariat thanks the ministry of Gender, children and social protection and the department of social welfare for heeding to our call and management and SRC of SSW for their collaboration.

The national secretariat will not rest on its oars to ensure that the other demands such as the allowances due the 2012/2013 batch is paid and the provision of a bus to mitigate their transportation challenges.
