We will continue to pay your utility tariffs-Bawumia

Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia, the 2016 vice presidential candidate for the opposition NPP has assured all tertiary students that an Akufo Addo government will continue to pay utility tariffs for Ghana tertiary students. He also reiterate his party's plans to restore the teacher trainess and nursing trainees allowance.

Dr. Bawumia said, he gets baffled when people ask where the npp will get money to implement such policy saying an npp government under a hipc and oil free economy was able to pay all these monies including several other social intervention programs like NHIS, CAPITATION GRANT, leap, masloc, free marternal care, MMT, to mention a few. Therefore with an oil and a middle income economy, no government has any right whatsoever not to honour such duties.

Dr. Bawumia also added his voice to a call made by his presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo that the IMF bailout could have been avoided if not for the economic mismanagement of the country and monies thrown into fraudulent deals. According the man popularly referred to as ''economics prophet'', all the monies dished out to cronies and friends of president Mahama through shady deals such as SADA, SUBAH, ISOFOTON WOYOMEGATE, NSS, GYEEDA etc when put together outweighs the money Ghana will get from the bailout. He there questioned why a country will throw her own money into the gutters and latter go begging.

He therefore urged all Ghanaian students to stay resolute and rise to bring back the New Patriotic Party to government for proper management of the Ghanaian economy.

Dr. BAWUMIA was speaking at a handing over ceremony of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON NPP) university of education Winneba-Ajumako Campus.
