The SRC of University of Ghana, Accra City Campus embarked on an Outreach to the Eastern Region of Ghana. The delegation led by Andrews Adjei (President) firstly visited Kibi Senior High Technical School to motivate and awaken the passion in the students to work tirelessly as they aspire to enter the tertiary institutions.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Head Master - Mr. Stephen Aglah and over 50% of the students population were organised for this exercise. The SRC then payed a courtesy visit to the Okyehene Palace located at Kibi where invigorating stories were told about the historic events that enveloped the Okyeman.
The SRC lastly visited the SOS Children's Village at Asiakwa where items including cloths, rice, tubbers of yam, oil, Toiletries, just to mention a few were donated to the village. The SRC President - Andrews Adjei stated that this was a symbol of camaraderie and a sense of generosity all and sundry must cultivate. He added that we should not renege in our efforts to reach to others and not wait till we have in abundance before.
He also seized the opportunity to emphasize that UG, ACC students too have serious problems including exorbitant school fees paid due to the tuition component though it is a government school, Lack of permanent accommodation facilities for the students, just to mention a few. He called on all stake holders to step up their game in order to help the future leaders of our great nation Ghana.
