OSEI-KUSI FOUNDATION DONATES TO ABIESI AND ITS SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES



The Osei-Kusi Foundation has once again transformed the lives of people living in deprived communities in Ghana. The Foundation has made another donation to people of Abiesi and surrounding villages like Tomkrong, Kofikrom in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The Foundation which was formed two years ago is focused on investing in young through mentoring, coaching, rural mission and scholarships made this donation with support from Dots Concepts Ltd, West African Aids Foundation (WAAF) and J Life Ghana.

The donation worth about GH₵ 5,000 made to the people of Abiesi Friday, 25th April, 2014 included clothes, shoes and bags for children and adults, cutlasses for farming, bags of rice, Bibles and educational materials like books, pens, pencils, boxes of chalks, rulers and inspirational books.

Even though the road connecting village was very bad, this did not deter members of the Foundation as they were seen carrying the items in their hands just execute their mission of going to the village.

Unlike the normal donation, the people of Abiesi and its surrounding communities were taken through sections of prayer, deliverance and fed with the word of God.

The programme saw an experienced nurse educate the people on negative effective effects of some common practices among people when illness surfaces. They were also screened on general ailments and given medicines were necessary and others with serious conditions referred to a clinic for further treatment.

The youth were also not left out, each one of them were interacted to by the life coaches of the Foundation. They soot to find out what were their problems and gave the necessary advice and encouragements.

Mr. Kofi Osei-Kusi, Executive President of the Foundation said in an interview with media that, the purpose of the donation was to help relief the people of their burdens and give them hope for the future.

When asked why they do life coaching for the youth, he noted that life coaching helps to build the can do spirit in the youth, prepare them psychologically and emotionally for life and gives them hope for the future.

Mr. Kofi Osei- Kusi also recounted that, some of the youth development programmes the Foundation is currently rolling are conferences on wealth creation on various tertiary institution campuses and a students’ community service award scheme purposed to cultivate the spirit of volunteerism amongst young people.

The chiefs and people of the village could not hide their excitement as they expressed their profound gratitude to Osei-Kusi Foundation.

The Chief, Nana Kumi Abiesi receiving the items on behalf of the people said he is excited by the kind gesture of Osei-Kusi and further called on the District Chief Executive of the area to fulfill his promise of improving their bad road, provision of health facility and a school.
